Week of Miracles because of the message of the Restoration

Dear Family and Friends

Thanks for all of the emails and the letters this week.  We had a week of miracles!!!!  The work has picked up so much this week.  For comp study we focused on the message of the restoration and prayed that we would have the opportunity to teach The Restoration so Elder Felix would have the chance to practice.  Our prayers were answered!!!!  We got let in by more people then I have ever had before.

One of the miracles that we had was we had a return appointment with someone and we came back.  The guy that invited us back when we went in said he didn't want to be Mormon but we could talk about Jesus.  He had some friends there and one asked what the difference between us was and everyone else was.  It was such a great question and it opened us right up to the Restoration.  It was one of the most powerful lessons on the Restoration that I have taught on my mission and the spirit was so strong!!  They all said that they had goose bumps haha.  We explained that it the spirit testifying to them of the truth.   I can't wait to go back and teach them again.

Another Miracle was from the baptism that we had last week.  Isaiah's soon to be step dad wants to be baptized now.  I asked him at the baptism what he thought of the baptism.  He said he liked it and I followed up with the question what he thought about baptism for himself.  He said he wanted to also be baptized.  We have been over at his house several times this week and he is getting baptized on Easter!!!  We are going to have a busy Easter. We get to speak in sacrament then I get to teach Sunday school, and then the baptism!!  Well I love you all and miss you!!  Happy Easter!!!

New Companion Straight from the MTC :)

Dear Family and Friends,

I had a great and eventful week.  I got to go to some other areas for a couple of days until I got my new comp.  I left South Haven Monday about noon and didn't get back until Thursday night.  I spent most of the week in Battle Creek and I found out that they make a lot of cereal there.  The missionaries that serve there get free cereal all the time; that would be sweet.  It was kind of fun because there are some members there with the last name Fletcher also.  Everyone asked me if I was related and I am pretty sure we aren't but who knows haha.

On Thursday I picked up my new comp from Lansing and his name is Elder Felix. He is From Gilbert, Arizona and hating the weather right now.  I was so glad that he is 19 and not 18.  Our mission now has 18 yr. olds running around the mission haha.

We had our baptism on Saturday and it went very well.  I only had to dunk him once so that was relieving.  The water was cold, we ran out of hot water and it was so funny to see Isaiah's face when he walked into the fount.  Well I got to go love you all and miss you!!  Till next week.

Crazy Weather and Transfer Calls

Dear Family and Friends,

Happy Monday everyone and happy Spring break to some of you.  Spring is coming and I am so excited that I am done with my last Michigan Winter!!!!!  This week was pretty eventful and the week went by pretty fast.  The weather has been crazy this week, it snowed 6 inches on Tuesday.  Yesterday it got up to 50 degrees. Almost all the snow is gone now, even on the beach so it is looking a lot prettier

I forgot to tell you all last week that we were going to be having transfer calls last Friday. My comp is leaving today so that is why I am email earlier than normal.  My comp is going to Grand Rapids and is way excited.  It is probably the happiest I have seen him in the 5 weeks we have been together.  He has been here six months and is just ready to move on.

So for me I am going to be training again.  I won't find out his name until Thursday when I see him.  My week is going to be a little bit different than normal.  I am going to go to another city with another missionary that will be training as well.  So I am going on a little vacation for a couple of days!!!

This Saturday we will be having a baptism in the branch which is pretty exciting and I am the one that gets to do the baptism.  He is a 9 year old that his family has been less active for a while and we have a baptism date with his step dad for the end of the month.  South Haven has really started to pick up in the last couple of weeks and I am really excited.  I am hoping that we will have 4 baptisms in the next couple of months.  Well I got to go. Love you all and miss you all!

Happy to Have a Car :)

Dear Family and Friends!!!!

We had a great week this week and we got our car back!!!  I can't believe how much more work you can do with a car!!!!!  Oh funny story about the car this week: on Wednesday we got our car back and we planned on visiting some inactive in a town that we haven't been before.  Oh and this town is a small little town in the country. We driving up their drive way which was a couple hundred feet and we got stuck the snow!!!!  My comp tried putting the car in reverse and then drive and nothing!!!  I got out to try to push it out and nothing.  It was pretty funny.  We tried for about 20 minutes and we just kept on trying.  My comp tried one last time and I have no idea how we got out.  I was running in front of the car making sure we didn't get stuck again.  After I got in the car I looked at my pants and I was covered in mud; it was great.  I know the lord was on our side that day or we would have never gotten out.  Oh and then we parked on the road and walked up the drive way and they weren't interested in talking with us haha.

Friday we helped one of our investigators move all day.  This was the first move on my mission of someone moving.  When we got there, they were already packed. It was great just loading up boxes into a truck.  But the house they were moving the people hadn't moved out yet so we had to wait until they clean a room so we could put their stuff in it.  We were bless this week and picked up 2 new investigators that are open to all religion and are excited to read the Book of Mormon.  We are meeting with them again this week.  That was the only thing that was exciting this week.  Love you all and I will talk to you next week!!!
