Transfer Day!

Hey everyone,
How are you doing? Thank you everyone for your letters.  It is always so nice to hear from all of you!! Well this week was good.  Nothing crazy happened this week which is always good.  I don't know if I told you or not but we have an awesome investigator right now. Her name is Katie.  Elder Ginn and I door knocked in to her back in December or January. She said that she was interested but every time we set up appointment she wouldn't be there or she would cancel. We just thought she wasn't interested but just trying to be nice. In February we had a mission fast to find families.  On Monday I remembered wanting to teach her back in December so we went over on Tuesday to see her.  We have been meeting with her regularly now and she came to church for the first time yesterday, which is awesome!!!! She wants to be baptized and next lesson Elder Kohler is going to set a date with her.
Oh I almost forgot. I am getting transferred and I am moving tomorrow to Coldwater, Michigan. I am so excited because Coldwater is where Elder Kohler my current comp trained Elder Ginn my trainer and last comp. Coldwater is the place where I have probably heard the most about beside the areas in my district. It is kind of crazy. I was hoping to be with Elder Kohler for one more transfer because it is his last transfer but that is okay.  I am going to have another great comp. My new comp is Elder Rawlins and he has two more transfers left. I might be his last comp but I don't know.

I have been out for 6 months now.  It is crazy to think.  I actually burnt one of my ties last week, which was pretty fun. I didn't tell you guys this last week but Steve, the one that I help get baptized said that he didn't want to come to church anymore for several reason.  The RLDS missionaries called him and shook up his testimony.  He decided that he was going to go to their church instead.  On Saturday we went over there because I wanted to go see him before I left and we were there for an hour and half. He is not ready yet to come back to church but there is a lot of hope for him. He said that the missionaries and home teachers could come over so we will have to see what happens with time.

I am sad to leave Bay City.  There are a lot of people I am going to miss. I am going to miss the young men for sure. I have been telling some of the members that I didn't just gain some missionary skills here but I gained some weight too because they fed me so well.  Ha-ha. Well that is it.   Love you all and hope to hear from you soon.

Love,
 Elder Robson Fletcher

They respect us now.

Family and Friends,

Well this week was okay it wasn't the best but that is okay. I don't know if I told you guys about it last week but we had the opportunity to go to Delta College here.  We were guest speakers on Mormonism. I was pretty scared to teach an honors class because, first they were probably smarter then me and second I am pretty scared of public speaking.  It went really well.  I can say that if that was 6 months ago I wouldn't have been able to speak in front of an honors class because I would have been scared to death.  We had a question and answer session for an hour and they just asked question after question.  For the most part the students were respectful but some thought we were crazy.  Some of the questions were kind of awkward to answer but for the most part we did a really good job.  I don't know if anything will come from it but when we left they at least respected us.

On Friday it snowed and we had a half snow day. We weren't supposed to drive until the roads were cleared.  Elder Kohler and I built a ten foot snowman that was awesome!!!  I can't remember the last time I built a snowman.  The rest of the week wasn't so good but that's okay.  Love you all.

Ward Conference

Hey everyone Happy Monday!!

Let's see what happened this week. This week was kind of different,  our goal this week was to invite everyone to ward conference which went very well.  We had a great turn out yesterday.  I think that was the most people at church I have ever seen.

Nothing to exciting this week it was kind of slow.  There has been a bug going around and a lot of people are sick.  We didn't get to see as many people as I would have liked to but that is okay.  We didn't get to meet with any of our investigators this week for one reason or another but that is okay.  They were good excuses.

Oh we have a great opportunity coming up tomorrow.  We are going to Delta College which is just a community college here, to talk in a social issue class about Mormonism.  We have a hour and a half to talk to the class about Mormons and what we believe in.  I am a little worried about it though because they want a half an hour for questions and answers. We talked to the teacher and he said that he showed a movie about Mormons from PBS.  We watched it yesterday and it was not a nice video about us.  At least we watched so we already know somewhat of they already think and know.

Oh yeah on Saturday we had Zone Conference and it was my comp last one so he got to give his departing testimony.  It is crazy to think that he is going home.  It's kind of funny to think when I first got here everyone told me how fast time goes by.  I didn't believe them but it true!!!  I am almost at six months I can't believe it.  1/4 of the way done.  My mission president is amazing I love him so much, I don't know how he does it all.

Well that is about it.   Love you all and talk to you before you know it!!!!

Crazy Weather and Ice Skating

Hey everyone,

I can't believe that it is Monday already, this week went by so fast.  Oh I was so excited about a lady that we had door knock into when I was with Elder Ginn, we were able to teach again.  We lost contact with her last Tuesday and we got an apt. and went over on Thursday.  We had an amazing lesson with her and we get to go over again tomorrow.

Well on Wednesday I had splits with one of the zone leaders again and this time I stayed in Bay City and my comp went to Central Michigan University.  It went very well. I was surprised.  For the first time the Zone leader didn't have anything bad to say about me.  He said that I was doing a good job and I know my purpose as a missionary.

We had a awesome lesson with one of are investigators named Lauri.  She wants to get baptized but first she will need to get married.  That is okay.  Thursday I really can't remember what happened.  Friday was a little crazy.  Elder Kohler driver’s license expired so now I have to drive everyday and Friday it snowed.  We had to drive from one side of the area to the other and I took for ever.  It was kind of scary and I do not like driving in the snow.  Well it has been crazy weather here last Monday it was 45 degrees and then Saturday it was 9 degrees.

Church yesterday was good but nothing too exciting.  We didn't get any investigators to church but next week we will.  Today we went Ice skating and we had so much fun!!!  It was Elder Kohler's first time but he did way good!! He only fell once.  That was probably the most fun that I have ever had ice skating. Well that is about it. Love all of you and hope to hear from all of you soon.

Car Problems :(

Hey everyone Happy Monday!!!

Well this week was good but not much to tell about.  My new comp Elder Kohler is awesome! I have learned so much from him already.  It is crazy!!  Last week it was kind of scary.  Our car has been having problems.  On Wednesday I was driving to district meeting.  The car died in the middle of the intersection and wouldn't start for a while.  So after district meeting we drove straight to the dealership and took it in and waiter 4 hrs for it.

When we started to drive back home it almost did the same thing. We took it back on Thursday and waited a couple more hours.  We got it back and the same thing started to happen.  We took it back on Friday and we still don't have it.  I just got a call that it won't be done until tomorrow.  Hopefully it will be fixed this time.

Church was great yesterday.  It seams like I get so much out of church now. Ha-ha. We didn't get any investigators to come to church yesterday but that is okay, maybe next week.  On Wednesday I have to go on splits with the one of the zone leaders in Bay City.  Hopefully everything works out okay, if not that is okay.  Well that is about it.  Love and miss you all.

Big Snow Storm and Great Investigator!

Hey Everyone Happy Monday!!!!!

So right now it is snowing like crazy!! This is the first really big snow storm this year because it has been very mild this year.

So I got my new comp on Tuesday and his name is Elder Kohler.   He is from Idaho Falls.  He is awesome!!  This week was great we got a lot done and got to meet some cool people.

Well yesterday I gave a talk and it went pretty well.  It was kind of funny because I talked longer than I should have, that was a first.  Church was great yesterday I learned so much.

We went over to Anthony's yesterday after church and we focused on The Book of Mormon to try to help him receive an answer if it is true or not. He wants to be baptized but he didn't know if The Book of Mormon was true or not.  We gave him a chapter to read yesterday and he called us last night say that he read the chapter.  He said that he got his answer that the Book of Mormon is true and Joseph Smith is a prophet.  We are going to go over tomorrow and set a date with him.  That is the only exciting news other than that it is just the normal.  Talked to a lot of different people, door knocked. Love and miss you all!

New companion, splits and good ole missionary work :)

Family and Friends,

Hey how is everyone doing?  Happy Monday to all!!!  So this week was really good, we got a lot done.  Well transfer calls came and I didn't get transferred but I am getting a new companion.  My new comp is Elder Kholer.  He trained my trainer so that is going to be fun. Elder Kholer only has three more months left on his mission so this will probably be his last area before he goes home. Elder Ginn got transferred down to Jackson and he is going to be white washing.  What that is both of the Elders are new and don't know anything about the area.

This week we went to the hospital a lot.  We have a couple of members there and we got to go visit them and give them blessings.  It is amazing how great their attitudes are while they are going through so much.  On Wednesday I had splits and Elder Pack got to come to Bay City. Elder Pack is awesome! I love going on splits with him.  This is the third time I have gotten to go on splits with him. Yesterday we went to go pick up Anthony for church.  We buzzed in at his apt and called him but he didn't answer.  We just thought he didn't want to go to church.  Today I called him and told him that we missed him at church.  He said that they were working on the buzzer because someone broke the buzzer and his phone was out of minutes. We are going over tomorrow.  Well that is all the exciting news for the week.  Love you all!!!
